Show The World Your Passion.

There is no such thing as a magic wand or a secret sauce to success in real estate, but if one did actually exist, it would be 'intense passion'.

I don't mean passion for homes. Passionate about owning your own business or being passionate about the latest design trends. I'm talking about being passionate about helping people realize all their housing dreams. Passionate about helping people solve problems that they cannot solve themselves. Passionate about curating a process that ensures that one of the most emotional decisions a person can make is lead with extreme oversight and empathy. Orchestrating a process and level of service that ultimately changes the course of history for individuals and families.

Passion is a strong emotion that drives us to pursue our goals with enthusiasm and determination. It is the spark that ignites our creativity and fuels our ambition. Having passion for something means that you are deeply interested in it and that it brings you a sense of joy and fulfillment. Passion can be found in many aspects of life, from hobbies and sports to work and relationships. When we have passion for something, it can help us stay motivated and push us to our limits in order to achieve success.

Passion is a necessary ingredient for any business owner. As a real estate advisor passion will make you memorable, keep you top of mind, help you build stronger connections, get you more closings, repeat clients, more referrals, a larger SOI, accepting sales awards, larger opportunities, million dollar listings, etc. All of this, through being passionate.

Well there is one more thing... you can not hide your passion!

Hiding your passion can be detrimental to your success. It can cause us to miss out on an opportunity to make a difference. Cause us to miss out on exploring other interests. It can prevent us from developing skills and talents. Can limit our ability to make meaningful connections with others. Can limit our success, our income, etc. Ultimately, hiding our passions can harm us in many ways as well as our relationships with others.

Ways in which people may hinder or hide their passion:

  • Some people choose to keep their passions a secret, not letting anyone else in their life know about them because they don't feel confident enough in their skills or because they are scared to fail.

  • Some people hide their passions by not talking about them at all. They may opt not to mention it to friends and family, or even on social media, in order to avoid having to explain their passion, its importance, or how things are going.

  • Some people hide their passion because they believe it to be self serving, when ultimately they are only wanting to service others.

  • Some people may try to act disinterested in their passions, hoping that others will interpret that as a sign that they are not passionate about them. This can be a way of avoiding confrontation with friends and family who may not understand or appreciate their passion.

  • Finally, some people will choose not to pursue their passions because they are scared of rejection or believe that their passions are not worth pursuing.

So, how do we recognize our passion? Passion is not in your DNA. Passion is a developed asset and emotion; the glue. It’s the magnifier. It's what allows you to see the whole picture and to conquer all the hurdles. It’s the unwavering feeling that keeps you focused, that drives your enthusiasm.

Passion is contagious.

And, when people see your passion, people listen. Buyers listen. Sellers listen. The entire world listens.

Ultimately, your best chance to succeed beyond your wildest dreams is to be passionate. It’s the only way to authentically sell who you are, what you want, and where you’re going to all the people willing to listen.

Something magical happens when we have passion, it creates a clear vision and a path to success. Literally, it is how our brains are wired. We are able to see opportunities that others can not. We can connect dots which might otherwise have remained unconnected. We push towards our vision and will back-off from things which distract from our mission. We focus on the important tasks. We set goals that are clear and measurable. All of this through passion!

Also, keep in mind…

The world needs great advisors. Being a great advisor requires vision and the compelling articulation of that vision to the world.

So - embrace your passion, craft your vision, your goals, your dream. Define it. Describe it. Draw it. Envision it. Build it. Shape it. Cultivate it.

And then, and only then, work on articulating it.
